We have different definitions of the word Sect:
1: Doctrine particular taught by a teacher who found her and explained, and followed and defended by others.
2: False religion taught by a famous teacher.
3: Body of believers in a particular doctrine or faithful to a religion that the speaker considers false.
4: A group of people who profess a particular teaching philosophy, politics, etc..
5: Set the following a dissident religious doctrine of the Church.
Consider these definitions:
The first speaks just a doctrine, which can be good or bad.
The second tells of false religion and famous teacher, both of the elements we have in the Opus.
The third said that the forerunner of the doctrine is considered false.
The fourth also speaks of a mere doctrine, whether philosophical or nature whatsoever.
The fifth says that this doctrine is a dissident of the Church, which in the case of Opus is totally the opposite.
Personally I'd take the second, to include at Opus as Sect. Do you know of other definitions? Is Opus Dei a true religion worthy of any respect?
Yours, while this machine belongs to me: Lestat.
