For everyone:
If anyone knows where to find this book in the Spanish author Maria del Carmen Tapia, please contact Mere through this forum. I know that the author works at the U. California. She could enlighten us more about life after the opus.
Thank you very much

There are some excerpts on the Internet .. Find them through a browser ... (if you do not find, let me know, I look for you and those you command)
I did not succeed in bookstores ... They say that in Spain withdrew it from sale, but do not know if it's true ...
A kiss!

I copy something off the Internet about Carmen Tapia, I hope it will ...

Opus Dei by Maria del Carmen Tapia
Former Superior of the female branch of Opus Dei

I could not be clearer!

The following communication came to our attention recently:

Opus Dei is the organization of the Council, and indeed Escriva is undoubtedly more "man of the Council" to JPII. The Holy Father is very much rooted in the tradition that Opus Dei.
... I would suggest that anyone interested in Opus Dei read "Beyond the Threshold", which is written by Maria del Carmen Tapia, who has been the superior of the female. She has been badly maligned since the publication of the book.

We investigated the Mrs. Tapia's book to see how close to that to which we have expounded on the Prelature of the Holy Cross and Opus Dei.
The 'Webmaster' by The M + G + R Foundation set about getting the book into a great educational and intellectual center of Spain.

The investigation was short and nothing interesting and surprising results.

The book was available but could not figure out why, which, in itself, reveals the whole story.

It was first visited the largest bookstore in the city. After many setbacks, we were informed that the book, which was described by one owner as a fiction novel, was out of print.

We visited a second library, well established (a joint husband and wife). At first the owner could not remember anything about the book, and then suddenly everything came to him out of his mouth like a flood.

He said he had stressed the book in the window of the library. Soon after, a gentleman who identified himself as a doctor in the area, entered the bookstore and asked the owner to have a talk with him alone. The visitor informed the shopkeeper that he belonged to a large group of professionals in this particular city and if not removed the book from Ms. Tapia's window, they would boycott his shop.

Later the owner wanted additional copies. He called the editor in Spain and was told he was out of print, and never to be edited by them. Following questions, the salesman was informed by the publisher that, after the original publication of the book, got a call or visit (do not know for certain) in which they were informed that a number of authors, whose books were being published by the editorial, would go to another publisher if the book again edited by Ms. Tapia.

So ... Castilian original version of the book by Maria del Carmen Tapia Crossing the Threshold has been away in Spain.

We thank God for allowing us to bring you, worldwide, this information and a small sample of the book in English by Mrs. Waller.

Having been the superior of the women's branch of Opus Dei, we are confident that Ms. Tapia will give you all the background you could need so that, in conjunction with what we have already published in the Name of God, you will be able to appreciate the seriousness and danger The Opus Dei is for the Roman Catholic Church * and * to the world at large.

Complementing the comments of Ms. Tapia, we provide the reader a detailed and extensive comments by Mr. Jaroslav Pelikan, prominent Spanish architect, member of Opus Dei founder Escrivá's intimate as well as those of Mrs. Rosario Lopez Badules another former -Member of the formative period of Opus Dei.

I could not be clearer!

Note added 17 April 2001
These same libraries, particularly in this city and throughout Spain, sell and display books covering topics ranging from Satanism, New Age Tarot Reading up mercilessly critical of prominent figures of the Roman Catholic Church, from SS John Paul II down. Yet nobody complains about it, much less coerce the owners to stop selling them. Just as we saw when the VISAO Portuguese magazine published a cover story highly critical of Opus Dei.

In this case, never tired of denouncing VISAO write that article. Interestingly VISAO offices were destroyed by fire soon after and they have lost the appetite to criticize Opus Dei.

The Opus Dei only defend one's own ... and obviously that of God and His servants are excluded - which is not surprising.

We take this opportunity to remind the reader that the latest FBI Director, Mr. Louis Freeh, was associated with that organization. This is also the case of members of other key agencies 'intelligence' of the U.S., like the CIA.
We ask our friends who keep The M + G + R Foundation and its work in your prayers - obviously, we have many enemies ...
